What is Liposuction?
Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty or body contouring, is an excellent procedure to contour the body and is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed throughout the world. Liposuction is designed to remove undesirable and persistent fat that has accumulated in almost all areas of the body, including the abdomen, waist, “love handles,” hips, thighs, buttocks, back, arms, knees, ankles, face, neck and chest. While liposuction is not a treatment for obesity, the procedure does help to improve the areas of your body in which fatty deposits stubbornly persist despite a healthy diet and exercise program.
If you are interested in learning more about how you can benefit from this procedure, please take a a look at some liposuction before and after pictures, or give us a call to set up your complimentary consultation. We’d be happy to answer any questions you may have, including average liposuction costs.
How is Liposuction Performed?
The liposuction procedure is performed using tiny, well-hidden and well-healing incisions. Réviance® surgeons offer the latest, most advanced tumescent techniques with state-of-the-art liposuction systems, including those with lasers (like Smartlipo or Smart Liposuction), ultrasound, and radiofrequency technologies. It is an outpatient procedure using either general or local anesthesia, depending upon number of areas being treated.
How Do I Know if Liposuction is Right for Me?
IIf you are unhappy with stubborn pockets of fat that won’t go away no matter how much you diet and exercise, liposuction may be for you. This procedure works for both women and men. In fact, it can be used for male breast reduction (gynecomastia) or to better define the chest or abdominal muscles. If you’re looking for a means of weight loss or for the removal of excess skin, however, liposuction may not be for you. Speak with your surgeon about your specific goals.
What Type of Post-Operative Liposuction Care Can I Expect?
Recovery following liposuction is relatively quick and depends upon the number of areas being treated. We typically recommend taking 2 days off from work after your procedure; however, some patients may require longer periods of downtime. Patients are required to wear a compression garment after surgery and strenuous activity should be avoided for at least 2-3 weeks.
What are Liposuction Costs?
Liposuction costs depend largely on the patient and the number of treatment areas. In addition, you also have the option of having liposuction at the same time as another procedure, so that will affect the price as well. These are all things that you’ll be able to discuss in detail with your surgeon, so give us a call today to schedule your appointment.
