What is a Body Lift?
Those who have recently had a significant weight loss may experience excess skin and fatty deposits that extend not only from the abdominal area but also throughout the trunk and into the back areas. In these cases, diet and exercise alone will not rid your body of that excess skin. Instead, a body lift in Sunnyvale may be the best option to reach your aesthetic goals. A body lift, or belt lipectomy, uses the same general philosophy as a tummy tuck and is designed to remove excess skin and fat that persists on the body. Aside from weight loss or weight fluctuation, pregnancy and simple aging may also create this type of skin sagging.
To see how this life-changing procedure could benefit you, we suggest looking at some body lift before and after pictures. And to discuss body lift prices, our friendly and helpful staff would be happy to help you.
How are Body Lifts Performed?
The body lift specifically targets the belly, hips, back, buttocks and thighs. The procedure begins with an incision that is hidden in the bikini line. Your surgeon may also choose to use liposuction to suction out excess fat, giving you the best results possible. General anesthesia and a hospital stay of one to two days is recommended, as this procedure is more extensive than most.
How Do I Know if a Body Lift is for Me?
If sagging, excess skin throughout your midsection are causing you to be self-conscious, you may be the perfect candidate for a body lift. If you’ve lost all this weight, it’s about time you’re able to show off your new body with pride. As with any surgery, the most important thing is to have realistic expectations of your results, so we recommend looking through some body lift before and after pictures before making your decision.
What Type of Post-Operative Body Lift Care Can I Expect?
Following your body lift surgery, you can expect some swelling and soreness. Your doctor will prescribe some pain medication to ease this. You will also need to wear compression garment around your midsection for at least a month. This helps to minimize the risk of developing any contour abnormalities. Your surgeon may also advise you to avoid any strenuous activity for at least a month while you are healing.
What are Body Lift Costs?
Body lift costs are different for each patient, as this is a highly individualized procedure. To discuss pricing, please feel free to call our office today. We would be happy to answer any questions we can for you, as well as set up a personalized consultation with one of our board-certified surgeons, in which you can share your personal goals in a comfortable setting.
