Sometimes referred to as a “laser facelift,” laser resurfacing is a technique that is used on certain areas of the face such as the forehead, eyes, mouth, or even the entire facial area.  The benefit of laser resurfacing is that the treatment can be controlled with laser technology, specifically targeting trouble areas including age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and other scars.  The laser resurfacing technique has a lot in common with other non-surgical cosmetic techniques like dermabrasion and chemical skin peels. Laser resurfacing procedures also work to firm the collagen matrix that exists below the surface skin to provide a greater aesthetic enhancement.  The main advantage with the technology used at Reviance® is that their lasers can precisely target the exact depths within the skin – this represents a huge advantage over chemical peels and dermabrasion as the depth of treatment cannot be precisely controlled.
